Day 16: How Did I Get Here?

It is time for a little tough love: the look inside to see how and why we got caught up in allowing ourselves to be emotionally abused in the first place. Second, why did we stay so long, and how come we did not ditch and run at the first sign of trouble? The simple answer is neuro-linguistic programing (NLP).

This is a fancy term for what the human mind experiences and patterns from infancy. This also extends to behavioral patterns, the ability to reason, and the process of change while we are in the current human experience. Here is a resource if you would like to learn about more about NLP:

When we were in utero and infancy we were exposed to the thoughts feelings and emotions of our those in our immediate environment. Our neuro net (or brain map) began to be programmed with thoughts, feeling, and emotions; as well as, how to process those emotions. We also began to absorb language, and how to use that language to express energies into thought patterns. Those thought waves sent out signals and those signals received by others, were sent back with a certain energy pattern or resonance. The development of those vibrations became the basis for our understanding of the world. Those thought patterns became the norm. It is the norm that we function from and create our own beliefs, perceptions, and judgements that we then hold to be true. This becomes our comfy blanked so to speak.

Concrete example: The norm for the color of butter is yellow. When margarine was invented it had a white appearance therefore rendering it unacceptable on the market. So yellow die was added to make the margarine more acceptable. Why?  Simply it was easier to make the margarine fit the mold of the neuro programing of the buying public than to educate them and have them accept the new concept.

I will give some time to allow that to resonate, and tomorrow we will look at how NLP lends itself to why we are unable to walk away from emotional abuse effortlessly.

During my recovery process I used an additional tool called Spiritual Response Therapy which accelerated my healing and strengthening. It is a spiritual tool designed to connect with energy, and shift it with expedience. I can facilitate that energy for you, you can book an appointment by clicking here
