Let’s talk today about holiday heaviness. Specifically for empaths.
Let’s be honest, most people don’t experience the holidays the way we do energetically. Let alone understand the emotional naviagation that it takes to keep going.
It takes a specific know how about how the mind and the emotions work.
Neuroscience shows that depression and emotional heaviness are often the result of a downward spiral in the brain’s networks — patterns that keep reinforcing themselves unless they’re gently interrupted. Scientists call the reversal an upward spiral, where even one small shift can change how the nervous system responds.
I recorded a short video sharing a 3-part way to interrupt that spiral, especially for empaths who tend to absorb emotional and collective energy more deeply during this season. Watch this:
It takes awareness and courage to walk through:
- Naming what you’re feeling so it loosens its grip
- Anchoring into the present moment so your nervous system feels safer
- Being engaged with others without absorbing their emotional weight.
I am sharing this with you today because I know that you might face moments of doubt – and with the right tools you can shift your energy.
These steps matter, and they help you to remember who you are when you temporality forget your empathic footing.
Hugs, Deanna
